What I collect, and what I do with it.
Plain English. No data sales, no mailing lists, no third parties beyond the tools listed below. If you've got a question I haven't answered here, email info@straitshinecleaning.ca.
The bare minimum I need to run a window-washing business.
When you fill out the quote form, I get your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and whatever you wrote about the job. That's all.
When you visit the site, three analytics tools see things like the page you are on, how you got here, your device type, your general region, and how you move through the site. They do not see your name or email. The tools are:
- Google Analytics 4 for traffic numbers and where people are coming from.
- Microsoft Clarity for session recordings of mouse movements and scrolls, plus heatmaps. Anything you type into the form is automatically masked.
- Meta Pixel so I can show Facebook and Instagram ads to people who have already visited the site.
To quote you, book you, and improve the site.
Your quote form info comes to my email through a service called Zapier. I use it to write you back with a price within 24 hours, and to follow up if we end up booking the job.
Analytics data helps me understand what is working on the site and what is not, so I can make it better over time.
Meta Pixel data lets me show ads to people who already visited the site without paying a fortune to spray the whole internet.
I do not sell your information. I do not put you on a mailing list. I do not share your information with anyone outside the tools listed in the next section.
Four services. That is the whole list.
- Zapier routes your quote form submission to my email. Zapier's privacy policy.
- Google runs the analytics and hosts my email. Google's privacy policy.
- Microsoft runs Clarity, the session recording tool. Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Meta runs the Facebook Pixel. Meta's privacy policy.
That is the entire list. No data brokers, no other third parties, no mailing lists you did not sign up for.
How to turn it off.
The analytics tools above set cookies in your browser. If you would rather not be tracked:
- Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or privacy settings.
- Install an ad blocker like uBlock Origin, or use a browser with built-in blocking such as Brave, Safari, or Firefox.
- On Facebook or Instagram, manage your ad preferences in your account settings.
The site works either way. None of the tracking is required to use the form or get a quote.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
You have the right to:
- Ask what information I have about you.
- Ask me to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask me to delete your information.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.

This site is for adults booking a service.
I do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child sent me their info by accident, email me and I will delete it.
If I change this policy.
I will update the date at the bottom of this page. If the change is significant, like a new tool added or a new way data is used, I will mention it in a banner at the top of the homepage for at least a month.
